Easter Pairing's
Spring is in full bloom in our gorgeous town! And with Easter just a couple days away, I thought it would be fun to do some pairings for every occasion you may have this holiday! Whether you're doing an egg hunt with kids, or just a scrumptious supper with the family, Silvestri wines will be perfect for your day.
Pairing 1: Decorating the Eggs
Technically done before Easter so they are ready for the Egg Hunt, you know you have to prepare for a bit of a mess on your hands. For this, there are no better wines than the 2021 Tre Bambine Chardonnay and the 2021 Rising Tide Pinot Noir! Both have a lovely, relaxing richness, and will absolutely pair with any hard-boiled eggs that might not make the cut for the decorating table. Tre Bambine also reminds me of the whimsy of childhood, and the fun of playing with family. And as a bonus, the Rising Tide has just enough pigmentation to it that it can also be used as a natural dye for a light burgundy hue.
Pairing 2: The Egg Hunt
Sunday is supposed to be absolutely gorgeous and sunny, and no wine pairs with an egg hunt better than our 2021 Estate Rose. Made with 100% grenache grapes, a light and floral body has just enough bright fruit notes to it to go brilliantly with chocolate bunnies and a jellybean or 2.
Pairing 3: Easter Supper
Lamb has always been a favorite of my family for Easter Supper, and many of our red wines go beautifully with it. The 2019 Eugenia is my go-to for roast meats, especially if they've got an herb crust, but I also really enjoy the 2021 Estate Syrah with lamb- it really highlights the savoriness of the dish. And if you want to do a white instead? The 2021 Il Campione has a lovely supple quality that melds with the meat and herbs just perfectly.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday and enjoy the hope and rejuvenation spring brings! (And hopefully avoid too many pollen sneezes!)
Cheers
~Andi
