Happy November!!!!

I told Daniella (who lovingly assembles these newsletters from the fragments that Frank and I send each month…thank you, Daniella!) that I am not sure I can speak in depth about the vineyard this month as Alan and I have been traveling for his career quite a bit. We were in New York to meet with Robert Zemeckis for Alan's next movie "The Last Mrs. Parish" starring Jennifer Lopez and then we flew to London for Alan to introduce "Back to the Future in Concert" for the film's 40th anniversary at Royal Albert Hall. It was a huge thrill to see the film again backed by a magnificent orchestra in the world-famous Royal Albert Hall. Most of Alan's career is in a room in our house. He rarely sees his audience and as such never hears their applause or praise. It's always a kick for me, even more than for him, to see the huge response he gets for his near-50-year career in the film business. I leave those performances smiling ear to ear. Lucky me.

But while we were traveling our vineyard and wine making processes were in full gear and we are grateful beyond words to Dave, Marshall, Frank, Santiago, and Jose for following through with the vineyard's needs and assuring us that everything will go forward as needed. Alan's film career makes the money to keep the wine flowing even in tough years, but the vineyard keeps us grounded and involved with you, our community. It's place in our lives is equally important. As I said above, …Lucky me/us to have such wonderful help in both of our life endeavors.

November is the month we all turn our heads to family gatherings and celebrations of gratitude. We send our love to all of you and wish for you a happy, healthy Thanksgiving with your family and friends. Thank you for all you bring to our lives all year long. We are most grateful.
