From Sandra's Desk
April 2026
?Just before the first of every month Daniella, our wonderful tasting room manager, drops me a quick email asking me to send my contribution to our monthly newsletter. I usually read last month's letter and then review my photographs to find the one that sparks my message for that month. This month it was one photograph in particular that moved me. It was a lovely photo of Alan and I with our friends Walter and Sylvia Georis sitting outside on an early spring evening surrounded by the vines. It reminded me of the fact that long before there was wine or vines, there were family, friends and fellow winemakers who encouraged us. Sure, some said don't do this....haha. But we refused to listen. The vineyard was the result of a dream of Alan's, inherited from his grandmother, Eugenia. She immigrated from Italy as a young woman bringing her cooking and winemaking skills with her. She made wine in her basement for her family's dinners. Alan dreamed of making wine, and we all know how Alan's dreams take flight and produce incredible art. So, against all the good advice, we proceeded. Along the way many people helped us and encouraged us. Walter and Sylvia became friends and as fellow winemakers we share wonderful moments. The photograph is just one of many moments, but it says everything. Growing grapes and making wine is an artful expression of one's life. We are in our wines, our choices and our sensibilities. We are part of a long tradition and ancestral dreams. We all are. This month as we celebrate the holidays that honor rebirth we send to you all our hopes for good friends and families to support your dreams and bring the magic of spring and rebirth through community.
Salute!

From The Winemaker
Happy Spring and Easter everyone!
Wow, time is flying this year. The growing season, generally, has a very straight forward timeline and gives us workers in the business a reliable ebb and flow to follow. This year, the ebb and flow ain't flowing lol. There is a very brief time for taking a breath in between harvest/winemaking and the start of the new farming season. Some years feel amazing, you feel rejuvenated, start the year with a fully charged battery. This year, and some years in the past, there really wasn't that time, unfortunately and it kinda just felt like a continuation of last year. Hard on the mind and body so we try and take the time to enjoy life's little wins, like celebrating the day with a beautiful glass of wine and positive vibrations. All in all, things are looking pretty great at the moment. The wines are tasting great, receiving some outstanding accolades while the vineyard and the ranch are looking amazing. Carmel is bustling, and we have had some of the most epic Carmel Beach days so far this year. Hoping it continues and hoping to see some of you next time I am in the tasting room. Cheers and thanks as always for the continued support. It is greatly appreciated.
Frank
