From Sandra's Desk
June 2026
School's out and summer vacations have begun!!! Summer in Carmel can be "tricky". By tricky I mean cold, foggy, sunny, warm, windy… take your pick! Fortunately, the weather in Carmel Valley is mostly sunnier and warmer. But keep your fingers crossed! Right now, the days have been golden and sunny and as a result the vines look amazing. If we get through June without a temperature drop… yippee!!!
The tasting room is benefitting from the influx of visitors too. I added a little seating choice for a couple which you will see when you drop by. Daniella and I both love it… lol
It's going to be a quiet summer for Alan and I as he is hard at work on his fall movie releases. I'm sure you've heard but we are back in "I Vendicatori" land… (The Avengers for those who don't speak Italian) so you may run into us more often as we hang around while he writes.
We hope you are starting your summer ready to head out for your big adventures. Consider taking us along with a bottle of Silvestri to share with friends or family. And you can have fun saying "I Vendicatori " to them!
Happy June!
Salute!
Sandra

From The Winemaker
Summer is here!!! Time is flying by, the vines are growing, and people are coming to town, it's fantastic. I don't come to Carmel-by-the-Sea often, all the vineyards and wineries I work at are in Carmel Valley, but when I do, it seems Carmel is just hopping with people. I've had a chance to sneak into the tasting room a couple times to enjoy some great conversations and wines with some of you and it's been a pleasure; I'm hoping to do more of that this summer. Supposedly, we are in for the El Nino of all El Ninos so town should actually be pretty nice all summer and everywhere else super hot, who knows, they have predicted this many times before and of course, nothing came to fruition, we will see. That being said, we are currently way ahead of schedule in comparison to most years, probably 4-5 weeks so the forecast being wrong would actually help us since we bottle the next vintage in late August, per usual, and it would not be awesome to also be harvesting at the same time. Generally, we bottle just before harvest so that we have barrels available for the next vintage, and of course there is a little leeway since fermentations take about 2 weeks to finish, but I certainly hope we don't run into a scenario where we are harvesting before bottling. That would not only be unprecedented but somewhat of a logistical nightmare, let's just hope this harvest is not too early. We will be bottling the '24 big reds and the '25 Chards + Pinots, both really great vintages so I am excited to make the blends which I will be doing soon. Cheers to all of you out there and I hope to run into y'all at the tasting room.
Frank
