Newest Arrivals in the Tasting Room:
Pinot Blanc, Il Campione, Estate:
Bursting with peach, honeysuckle and dried apricot, our new Pinot Blanc has a soft, full mouthfeel that rolls into a firm yet balanced acidity. The grapes are pressed and put in stainless steel tanks, racked to 55 gallon stainless steel barrels. The wine does not go through malolactic fermentation in order to maintain the "crispness" that the malic acid brings. It is then aged in half stainless steel, half neutral oak barrels for 5-8 months before bottling. The name Il Campione is in honor of our son, James.

2013 Pinot Gris, Ala, Estate:
Aromas of green apple and white nectarine in the nose, round in the mouth and crisp acidity dances on the palate. Our Pinot Gris is pressed and put in stainless steel tanks, racked to 55 gallon stainless steel barrels. The wine does not go through malolactic fermentation in order to maintain the "crispness" that the malic acid brings. It is then aged in half stainless steel, half neutral oak barrels for 5-8 months before bottling. Named for our daughter, Alexandra.

2013 Rosé, Estate:
The 2013 Rosé is a blend of Barbera and Pinot Noir. A good swirl of the glass reveals a hint of watermelon, strawberry and rose petal. A round texture in the mouth follows the fruit, and a crisp acidity completes the finish. The juice is pressed away from the skins and chilled in stainless steel tanks. After barrel fermentation, the Rosé is aged for 5-8 months in neutral French oak.

From Sandra's desk:
August is always one of our favorite months in the vineyard. The canopy is full and lush, the grapes are nearly finished turning to their final colors, and as the sugars arrive, the beautiful tastes of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay show the promise of what is to come during harvest. As this newsletter arrives in your mailbox we are finally releasing our children's designated varietals. "Ala" Pinot Gris, "Red Ranger" Syrah, and "Il Campione" Pinot Blanc are dedicated to our three children in honor of our 35 years of marriage. The other designated wines, "Due Bambine" and "Eugenia" as well as our new Barbera are all products of family relationships that are the foundation of our family vineyards. The response to these wines has been exciting for us and if you haven't met these new family members we invite you to join us in our tasting room for a formal introduction. As always our wonderful staff is there to serve you. We look forward to seeing you there soon!
Salute!!!
Alan and Sandra Silvestri
