Newest Arrival in the Tasting Room:
2013 Silvestri Vineyards Chardonnay, Due Bambine, Estate, Carmel Valley
Consistency is the first thing that comes to mind with this wine. When we tasted it, it was almost like tasting the 2012. We then looked back at the 2012 tasting notes and they were almost identical.
Un-oaked Chardonnay. Stainless steel fermented and aged in stainless barrels for 5-8 months. This brings out the pear and green apple fruit. Allowing only primary fermentation (sugar to alcohol) maintains the crispness of the wine. Unlike most stainless steel Chardonnays this wine has a creamy texture in the mouth which is smooth and delicious. The final phase is where the inherent acid produces a bright finish. An elegant style that focuses on the purity of Chardonnay fruit from this vineyard.
The wine will be available beginning Friday, November 14 in the tasting room and online.

From Sandra's desk:
The fall months are always the busiest time of year in the vineyard. Bottling last seasons wine, harvesting this years grapes, and beginning the long process of making the wine drives the winemaker and farmers forward through the fury of the fall. But as November arrives things begin to slow down a bit. The wine leads the way. Going into the barrels signals the start of the mellowing moments of the season. The vineyard leaves turn gold and eventually fall, creating a gorgeous carpet of gold throughout the vineyard. After a season of hard work, The Silvestri Vineyards team returns to their families…finally! in anticipation of the coming holiday season.
It's been an incredible year for all of us at Silvestri Vineyards. Winning gold medals at the San Francisco International Wine Competition and a local Carmel Golden Pinecone for Best Monterey County Pinot Noir reminds us how grateful we are for our wonderful team and our loyal customers. YOU are the reason we wanted to make wines that would showcase the beauty of the Carmel Valley. "A 'Rising Tide' lifts all boats" is our motto and we feel we are accomplishing this goal not only with our wonderful wines but with our wonderful Silvestri Vineyards family and customers.
Alan and I wish you and your family a most glorious holiday season, filled with family, food, and of course, great wine. Thank you for your enthusiasm and loyal support this past year.
You have most definitely been a "Rising Tide" in our lives!!
Salute!!!
Sandra Silvestri
