April showers?  April flowers?  April freezes?

        April is always a very "interesting" time in the vineyard. The buds have broken and the  plants are aching to grow and stretch into the sunlight.   But the chilly nights can bring frightening episodes of frost and freeze that can destroy growth and in the worst case scenarios even kill the plants.   We have had warm days and some very cold nights in Carmel Valley but at least for now our vines have "weathered" the cold well and we are still looking forward to a long growing season.  This is great news because the ever popular Barbera and Syrah need these extra days to reach their full potential.  
        And speaking of the Barbera, it is again available in the tasting room along with our "Bella Sandra" Chardonnay and "Rising Tide" Pinot Noir!  It's been awhile and we've missed sharing these premium wines with you.  But they are small productions so hurry on in to the tasting room while they are available.
        As always Alan and I and the entire Silvestri Vineyards family are appreciative of your support and loyalty.  Owning a vineyard in our adopted home has given us a direct connection to our community, expanding our local world in the way that only wine can do.   Thank you being a part of our world of music, wine, and family!
