From Sandra's Desk:
March 2020
I'm writing to you from cold and rainy Manchester, England today. Alan and I are here launching his latest endeavor, "Back to the Future the Musical". It's a wonderful show and we are having a great time. Of course, Alan is working night and day but I am listening and watching EVERYTHING and WOW!, is this a lot of work...lol But very rewarding....and EXCITING!
Before we left our home we had a wonderful few days at the vineyard, celebrating our lives and the good fortune we have had to own this amazing piece of land and to have had the blessing of shepherding a vineyard and wine into life on it. It is truly in our hearts wherever we go and whatever we do. I am sending along a few photos of our trip and of our days at the vineyard, including those wonderful rainbows we had the good fortune of sharing with the locals.
The show is going extremely well and we will be back on home turf in March but until then we want to thank the good people of Manchester for their warm hospitality, great restaurants, good wine and spirited conversations. It's been a tremendous experience.
We will see you all across the pond soon but until then...have a glass of Silvestri wine for us. We miss it and you !
Salute!
Sandra and Alan

From The Winemaker:
Happy Almost Spring, or by the weather here on the Central Coast, happy spring! The weather here has been absolutely spectacular, which in normal circles is glorious, but for those who farm wine grapes, it gets a bit spooky. We haven't had rain in a month or so (bad) and we are getting close to 70 degree temps all week. What that means is that the vines might be thinking to themselves "it's go time". Luckily, we have had a pretty chilly winter so I'm hoping they stay nice and asleep for a little longer, sleep is good for all living and growing things, having 3 young boys I certainly can attest rest is good and healthy! In the winery, the 2019 vintage is looking really good and plentiful. I think we produced 50 more barrels than we have ever produced before, and the quality of the vintage is excellent. We are going to bottle a bunch of wines this month and I'm super pumped that it will be the first bottling of our Cabernet Sauvignon, Il Vendicatori and a Bordeaux blend that will include all 5 Bordeaux varietals ( Cab. Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc) that will be the new incarnation of the Eugenia, which we produced a few years back. Also we will introduce a Grenache Syrah blend and our first ever late harvest Orange Muscat, a killer slightly sweet wine. Also being bottled will be the 2019 Rose', Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Gris, as well as the 2018 Syrah, Red Ranger Syrah and Barbera...man that's a lot of new, awesome wines, I can't wait for y'all to try them....cheers Frank

From The Tasting Room:
Spring is approaching fast and we can certainly feel it and see it in Carmel. Our collection of white wines are eager to show their bloom in this warming weather. Look for that sunny spot in your day to appreciate a chilled glass of 2017 Pinot Blanc, Il Campione, Estate. Enjoy it's aroma of white flowers, pear, and apricot notes in the back. A slightly heady minerality in the nose and mouth with a soft texture and lively acidity. Spring has sprung with this wine! With our 2017 Chardonnay, Estate and 2016 Chardonnay, Bella Sandra, Estate it is easy to choose the wine with the right amount of oak, smoothness, and acidity. Be on the lookout for the new vintage release of our 2018 Pinot Gris, Ala, Estate and 2017 Pinot Noir, Rising Tide, Estate. We look forward to seeing you at the tasting room!
