"Everything is coming up Rosé"
2020 Bordeaux Blend Rosé, Syrah Rosé, Pinot Noir Rosé and Grenache Rosé
June 2021
Can we really be emerging from the cocoons we all created a year ago to protect ourselves from COVID-19? Like butterflies, we slowly come out, see the light and wiggle free of our constraints to emerge as beautiful butterflies.
Having lived on the Monterey Peninsula for many years, we are all familiar with the cycle of life. In many ways we live with this cycle every year in our "normal" lives to one degree or another. But COVID-19 put us all on alert and made it all the more special. We longed to escape and yet there was safety in our seclusion. Now after a year we are getting vaccinated and slowly removing our masks with vaccinated family and friends. We are still wary but we are beginning to breathe again…..hug again and yes, enjoy wine together again.
At Silvestri vineyards we followed all the protocols in our tasting room and in our winery. We tried our best to protect ourselves and our customers. We hope (and pray) that you all "made it" or that the impact was slight on your lives.
Now, as we begin to enjoy our lives again, we will still closely follow all recommended protocols. It looks like we may be giving up our parklet and the safety of that tiny space. We hope you all will visit us in our tasting room, still following the necessary precautions as not everyone is vaccinated and we are not yet at herd immunity.
The grapes suffered their own trauma with the fires last summer and we lost an entire vintage of reds BUT we have wonderful surprises in our Rosé collection. We are calling it "Everything is coming up Rosé". We hope you will agree that this is a fun way to celebrate the summer as you taste/dance through the Rosés Frank created. We are also enjoying the wonderful success of our first Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2018 "I Vendicatori". We have tasted it and all agree you are in for a treat!
SO we hope you will emerge from your cocoon and join us as we begin to live again. Life on the Monterey Peninsula and in Carmel Valley is a joyous life and we look forward to sharing it with you very soon.
We wish you all Good Health and happy emergence!
Salute!!!

From The Winemaker:
Hi all, it seems it has been awhile since our last newsletter! I hope everyone who receives this is healthy and happy. I guess the obvious place to start is society finally getting back to some normality, thank heavens for that. I took my youngest son to a birthday/moving away party this weekend and it was just great to see the kids just, well, being kids. Running around, playing tag, playing some baseball, eating some bbq dogs, mustard and ketchup smeared on their faces and shirts, it was awesome. Which kinda reminds me, we hit spring finally. The weather here can be very...let's say...frustrating. One day it's 73 and perfect, the next day 53 with a bone chilling wind. Which brings me to the vineyard. With essentially one rain storm this year, ouch...a mere 5 inches total this year and really cold days and nights, we are sitting about 3-4 weeks behind normal. Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for a nice warm summer because ripe fruit is what MAKES our wines, OUR wines. Speaking of wines, evidently our first Cabernet Sauvignon is turning some heads, which is great to hear. I'm not surprised. The new vineyard planting was perfect for it. I'm just really excited for everyone to taste that wine. It will knock your socks off!! As always, we thank all of you for the continued support, without y'all we don't survive this crazy year, so THANKS AGAIN. Cheers and here's to some sun-shiney days ahead.
Frank

From The Tasting Room:
In anticipation of California's COVID restrictions easing, we are preparing to welcome old and new friends back into our tasting room. We appreciate everyone's support during this long year where we have only been able to offer outdoor seating. Your patronage has been very much appreciated.
With the excellent summer weather right around the corner, please consider our great selection of white wines. We now offer three unique versions of Chardonnay each with varying notes of oak, acidity, and texture. Our newest addition is the 2019 Chardonnay, Tre Bambine, Estate. Coming from our hilltop vineyard and delivering notes of highly aromatic fruit flavors, this one is worth getting to know! Also our 2019 Grenache Rosé has been a huge hit! It is dry in style, pale in color, and bursting with flavor. Please consider these new additions when choosing your next bottle of wine.
We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to our tasting room in the very near future.
Salute,
The Tasting Room Staff
