We appreciate your patronage and hope to keep you up to date on the latest news from the vineyard and the tasting room (with an occasional bite from Alan's musical efforts).

May 2023

May...

Blooming May. The vineyard has gone beyond bud break to bursting leaves. It's the moment we begin to hold our breath with every weather and temperature prediction. Will we make it to summer without a frost? For the next month that will be THE question. And for now, so far so good. But this is farming everyone says. So, we wait and watch.
Alan and I are preparing for a big summer in New York as he joins the company to bring Back to the Future the Musical to the Broadway stage. And just like in the vineyard, we are keeping our fingers crossed that all goes well.
Farming and opening a show are very similar as it takes a multitude of small things to make a good bud break and season. So, while we watch for frost here in CA, we will also watch for a different kind of "frost" on Broadway.

Wish us luck!! Or wish us to Break a Leg. Either way …. Buona Fortuna!!!

From The Winemaker

Hey all, Happy springtime!! Well, as you all may have heard, our wines got some high praise from the Wine Enthusiast. Six different wines scoring 90+ is really fantastic and I am super proud of that accomplishment. We rarely send the wines in to be judged, for a lot of reasons, but the main two are that the judge may have palate fatigue or the wines just before affect the tasting of your wine and the second reason (and most important to me) is if by chance you score very high, the opportunity for speculative buyers come into play. We are hoping that our customer base feels a direct connection with us as a boutique winery and appreciate the hands on, methodical approach to the craft we are applying. I guess that is what's so great about having so many different wines score so high. It means no matter what the varietal, the quality, attention to detail is exhibited and the wines are showing it. We really enjoy having a direct connection with you all, makes this experience (for both sides) a lot more fun and personal. So, cheers to you all, and as usual we really appreciate the continued support.
