We appreciate your patronage and hope to keep you up to date on the latest news from the vineyard and the tasting room (with an occasional bite from Alan's musical efforts).

Fall!! Harvest and Harvest and more Harvest!!

It has begun!! So far some of the Syrah and some of the Pinot Noir and some of the whites are in. Handmade wine means we have the luxury of harvesting as the grapes are ready, not as we are ready for them….lol. This means that I'm sure Frank is up to his neck in wonderful juice. Mmmmm, lucky us. Can't wait!

Silvestri Vineyards hosted a wonderful wine and food pairing dinner near our East Bay home at Roundhill Country Club, It was a roaring success. We thank everyone who attended and made us feel so welcome and appreciated!

This month there is so much going on in the Silvestri Family in addition to wine. First and most importantly, we have a big update! ROWAN PIAVE SILVESTRI was born October 10th, 2024, near Salt Lake City, Utah. Baby Rowan, Mom Ashley and Dad James are all home now and doing well.
Rowan already has a wine named after him, our "Piave" Pinot Noir. (It was actually named after his great grandfather Louis Piave Silvestri, but now little Rowan shares it with his great grandfather)
It's all very exciting!

Also on this month's agenda is our annual fundraising walk for diabetes, renamed the Breakthrough T1D walk (formerly the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or JDRF Walk). Thank you to those who have already contributed and an invitation to those who would still like to support this effort. We are "Joe's Impatient Walkers" with the link provided

We had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful couple at Casanova Restaurant the other night who told us that we share the same last name!!! I'm sure that there are more of us out there so if you have "Silvestri" in your name…..CIAO!!!! Always say "Ciao" when you greet us and we will know who you are!

From The Winemaker

Happy Harvest time,
Well, after a really ideal summer (not too hot, not too cold) the last week of September and first week of October decided we should see Phoenix weather, there is not a fan available at any store probably statewide. What this means is sugars accelerated in a way that we are now harvesting just about everything in a span of 2-3 weeks. Sound familiar? Yes, last year what is normally a 6-8 week harvest season for us, we also had an October heat wave that pushed all the grapes into a 3-4 week window. Anyhow, we are finally cooling down into the 80's this week after 2 weeks of high 90's and 5 days at and above 100 and we are thankful for that. Needless to say, exciting times and everything is still looking great. Cheers and thanks as always for the continued support.

Autumn is here, and with it, we're finally getting a break from the heat wave that had us all seeking shade and chilled wines! Now that the cool breeze has settled in, it's time to embrace spooky season and all the exciting local events that come with it. We've had a blast so far, and there's even more to look forward to this month!

We had an incredible time at Taste of Carmel, meeting so many of you and sharing our latest vintages. Your enthusiasm for our wines makes all the hard work worth it, and we can't wait to do it again next year!

We also had a great time being a part of Meet the Maker this October. It was a perfect chance sample some of our wines while appreciating the local artists and chefs of Carmel.
Our first event with Meet the Maker was at Carmel Valley Ranch pouring alongside local small bites prepared by the chef at the property. Our second event was Meet the Maker downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea, pouring wine at the beautiful Kathy Sharpe Studio.
